Chanel N. Castaneda has worked for 7 years at the US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (US-DOL) in both the Office of Grants Management in the National Office and the Chicago Regional Office. Chanel currently works as a Grants Management Specialist in the fiscal policy and reporting team of the Division of Policy, Review, and Resolution (DPRR). The team is responsible for developing and conducting training on the fiscal and administrative policies and requirements of ETA grants. Previously, Chanel has worked as an Accountant for USDOL-ETA Chicago City Regional office since August 2009. Her roles and responsibilities in the Regional Office includes: fiscal contact for the states of Missouri, Kansas, and Indiana; resolution of Single Audits; and trade benefits. She just completed a rotation with the ETA-National Office in the Fiscal Policy Unit and assisted in the writing and editing of regulations surrounding the recent passing of the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act. Previous to USDOL-ETA, Chanel was a public auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior associate in the Consumer/Industry/Products/Service industry.
Chanel is a licensed CPA in the state of Illinois and is a proud graduate from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) with a Masters and Bachelor Degrees in Accounting and a concentration in Spanish.
